First Full Day with Emilia

Our first full 24 hours with our beautiful little girl! What an experience and what a blessing we are sharing.

I (Ren) must admit, I'm a little nervous because as her personality continues to emerge, we are seeing a little teaser in our midst. Tom and Emilia spells big trouble for Ren!

Because it rained all day yesterday, our sightseeing tour was at a museum here in Changsha. I can't recall the name off the top of my head, but it was incredible. The museum centers on a family tomb that was discovered in 1972 and dates back to approximately 700+ years B.C. and the remains of the woman of the house are completely mummified and all the possessions that were buried with her are all remarkably preserved. They even found 32 watermelon seeds in her stomach when they autopsied her. I (Tom) suggested to the guide that in the U.S. we spit the seeds out. Amy, our guide was fabulous and it gave us an opportunity to learn about the local culture which we always enjoy.

Today it is still raining so I (Tom) may go for a little swim in the indoor pool, followed by a nap and then a little afternoon shopping. ( I am not sure what Ren ans Emilia are doing....ha...ha). Maybe I will invite them along. Renee has already purchased one pair of shoes. I can't complain because they only cost a few bucks. I think I may have her get all the shoe shopping for the year out of the way at these prices. I am looking for an additional piece of luggage to bring the shoes home. Also the massage in the hotel only cost $12 USD for one hour. I am also encouraging Ren to get her fill before we return home.

That's all for today. Emilia just fell asleep in Ren's arms as we type this entry. I guess swimming will have to wait a couple of hours.

OMG! She looks like a little devil! She has that twinkle in her eye! How adorable! It seems like things are going so well. How fabulous that she appears to be bonding so well with you both. What a great family life you have ahead of you! She seems so happy to have finally been united with her mom and dad!

Is there anyway you can update every hour on the hour? I am finding that I need a fix that often. Unrealistic, I know but please know how much we look forward to every update and every photo. It is unbelievable how she is working the camera. Mich and I may have some competition.
Give her a great big hug and kiss from all of us.
Love to you all,
Dun

Can't seem to get my blogger account up...so here I am...anonymous. I'm with Mich and Dun...so excited to go to this site every day...2 - 3 times per day to check for updates. Was not expecting one today so was sooooo excited to see you found time to send an update. Showed Shawn for first time today...his favorite - the close up during bath time. We all think she is so adorable and as you describe her personality I can't help but imagine her playing with the kids. The excitement to meet her is overwhelming! Lots of love...keep the updates coming! And Ren...I wear size 7 - 7.5. xoxoxoxoxo

Hi you three, I agree with my sisters, thanks for the updates and pictures. Sounds like a great day you all had and the pictures are great. I love the idea that she already has some of her dads traits, (way to go tom) :0 ). Keep them coming. I love you guys
P.S. could you add more than 3 pictures of Emilia in your updates or is that the max. Just wondering she is just so cute.

Hello, it's meeee Mom. I'm at Dun's and just saw the most recent pictures of all of you. She looks like she's loving her bath time, she'll fit right in with the rest of the kids. II should invest in a larger tub, as they'll probably all want to bathe at the same time. Ha Ha. Has Tom found another suitcase yet for all you shoe purchases.. By the way I went to my appointment this morning and all is well. No problems. Also wanted to update you on Elaine. She will be getting her surgery on March 7th at Maine Med.. It will be a 7 to 8 hour operation. He recuperation in the hospital can be from 2 to 4 days if all goes well, then about 4 wks of rehab. Just thought you would want an update. Keep the pictures coming and the daily excursions info. It's like being there with you and experiencing it with you. Love you all. Lots of love, Mom (Mem)
